The dream that Anthony Matson voiced in 2001 is a reality because of the kindness and generosity of the people of Charlestown. Because of you the Anthony’s Dream – “Future for a Family” campaign was a resounding success. On behalf of Bill McGoff and his family and our organization, we extend our appreciation and admiration.
For eleven years, our committee members have been humbled by the capacity of neighbors to rally as one in support of another, and this past Friday evening at the K of C Hall, was one that will always be remembered.
With both the up and downstairs hall filled to capacity with supporters, volunteers, gifts, prizes and laughter, the Charlestown Community has made a brighter future for this family.
We offer a special thank you to the many businesses and families that donated the spectacular baskets, silent auction items, and special donations. To Cecil Jones and the Boston Police Runner’s Club, one word sums it up – Wow! To the silent donor, his wife and two sons, you were the first to step forward, your gift helped launch our momentum. The donated efforts of our two DJ’s, Kevin Cain and Dennis Taylor, provided the necessary mood for the evening. Tom Cuhna and the membership of the Knights of Columbus, for over a decade you have provided Anthony’s Dream a home, where we could gather as one to help a neighbor, it has meant so much.
To all of Charlestown, please know that the needs can be many and the funds are integral, but the kindness of an entire community is the greatest medicine of all – WELL DONE!
